Legendary Japanese Pop Star MISIA, on her Asian press conference tour and concert. For this project I wanted to strip down the elements of the pop star to a humane perspective one which MISIA very much has. She is usually portrayed as larger than life in elements of fantasy and surrealism that define her as an entertainer. The Real MISIA came about after listening to her solo performance of Its Just Love, with her on the piano and singing with such emotional intensity that I felt truly moved. Which was impressive considering I do not understand the language of her songs. Although    I finally understood why she was so revered and admired. There was a beautiful sadness beneath her voice  that was close enough to everyone. To distill the beauty from the suffering is a gift.
